Day 3

"OVER THESE HILLS I ONCE MADE FREE UPON MY HORSE"
the quote engraved with statue in front of Mystic Lake Resort & casino

Traveled just 140 miles today but wow are we glad. For $27 we have a full hook up, lovely spacious site, clean surroundings, not at all crowded, and very friendly folks. Played $20 on slots which took me about 40 minutes to loose, so didn't figure that was too bad. Carl found a 5 spot on the ground, he was gonna give it to our waiter for a tip, but I told him it was an omen and he should bet with it. Guess I was wrong, darn $5 was gone in less than 5 minutes. Oh well, easy come easy go. We hit the buffet right, it was seafood night. Yummy, all the king crab legs and shrimp our little hearts desired. And boy did we desire. The scenery on this trip was much better than yesterday. Pretty rolling hills and farms. We are staying off the express ways as much as possible. Petro finally managed to get a bath once we got here and settled in. He looks and smells much better. I think he feels better too.

The truck and RV got a bath too as there is an awesome RV wash right at the entrance to the park.

We managed to collect quite a few bugs already so it was good to get them cleaned off. What ever the stuff is that they use in their soap sure does work good on the baked and caked on bugs. Of course, Carl's truck (chick magnet) had to get shined up too. Someone has a nice comment about his truck no matter where we are so he likes to keep er looken spiffy. The temperature was already 70 when we struck out this morning and 80+ this afternoon. Couldn't find Carl's sandals this afternoon. Figured we must have packed them in with things we stored at the farm before we left. Not sure what we were thinking. Looks like he may just be in the market for new pair before this trip is over and if we continue to have this nice weather.

yes those are tepees you see in the background. The park has about 6 or 8 they rent out. Yes, the grass is as thick and lush as it looks. The campground is far enough away from the casino and road that it is  peaceful and quiet. All we hear at night is the water fountain in the pond. Very soothing.

A grill, fire pit, table and trash can at every site.
