Fisherman Heaven

Still working on the Anchorage - Seward blog but thought I would post this tidbit in the mean time.

Arrive in Kenai Peninsula Wednesday. Planning a couple weeks here so Carl can get his fish fix and we can get that long awaited Alaskan Halibut & Salmon for the folks back home.

Talking to lots of fisherman, getting the scoop and purchased the necessary equipment so "FISH ON" hopefully will be the rule of the day starting tomorrow. This place is packed, and I mean packed (called combat fishing) with locals and folks like us all along the banks of the rivers and boats galore. Can (and have) talked to fisherman at gas stations, restaurants, campgrounds, visitors centers, campgrounds and on the street. What a glorious place to be for those who love fishing and love fish.

Everyone we talked to got their limit within 1 hour so apparently it is not an all day event unless you stick around to watch the rest having fun. We watched folks reeling them in constantly just for the little time we were viewing.
